The Mast Farm Inn is currently conducting cleanup after Hurricane Helene will remain closed through Thursday, October 8th.
We have safely evacuated all guests and non-essential staff from the property, and our hearts are with all that were affected by this monumental storm.
What is your current operational capacity?
We are officially closed through October 8th. We have essential animal caretakers and maintenance personnel onsite. How can we contact the Mast Farm Inn?
Our inbound phone systems are currently down, but we are able to receive email at stay@mastfarminn.com and text messages at 828-963-5857.
We are receiving a high volume of communication from guests at this time, and will work hard to get back in touch with you as we are able.
When do you plan to re-open?
We hope to re-open beginning October 9th. Our electricity and internet access have both been restored, and we are now working on cleanup on the property grounds.
How much has Mast Farm Inn been impacted?
The Inn was very fortunate, relative to other properties in the area.
We have trees down that are affecting Blacksmith Shop, and trees down affecting the modern cabins at Heritage Hill. Miscellaneous mild debris is strewn about, but our fantastic grounds crew is already at work on cleanup.
Generally speaking, the grounds are safe and accessible. The Farmhouse is unaffected and we hope to re-open the restaurant as soon as able.
Our electricity and internet access were restored on October 3rd. Blue Ridge Energy provides the following power map.
Are the roads currently drivable?
As of Thursday, October 3rd, most road closures in the local area have been resolved. There are roads in Banner Elk that have been affected. Follow the DriveNC website for up to date closure information.
How affected is the surrounding area?
We have confirmed that Valle Crucis, Boone, and Banner Elk were all significantly affected and have various cleanup efforts underway. We are monitoring the cleanup efforts that have already begun and will aim to keep this page updated as able.
Can I reschedule my reservation?
We invite all guests whose travel plans are affected between September 28th and October 8th to reschedule their reservations free of charge. We very much hope to serve you in the future.
Please contact stay@mastfarminn.com or text 828-963-5857.
Can I cancel my future reservation with a checkin date on or after October 8th?
For reservations checking in beginning October 9, 2024, you may cancel your reservation. However, our standard cancellation policy applies; a one-night deposit will be non-refundable.
Our current intentions are to resume operations on October 9th. We recommend that if you are nervous, that you instead reschedule your reservation for a future date as we are waiving all rebooking fees.
If the Inn is forced to close and we must cancel your reservation, we will offer either a full refund or free rescheduling at that time. You will be contacted directly if you are affected by an Inn closure.
Will you be able to refund our reservation deposit?
Our intention is to be able to refund all Mast Farm Inn guests that are affected by property closures as soon as possible. We have begun the insurance claims process with our insurance provider, which we are told to expect may take up to 4-6 weeks.
We are keeping track of all affected reservations, and will process refunds as soon as our insurance claim has been settled.
My travel was directly affected by the hurricane between September 26th-28th. Can you refund my reservation?
We are unfortunately unable to refund these stays, as the Inn remained open and operational during these times. We are in touch with our insurance agency to investigate our options for business interruption claims.
Please contact us, however, as we would love to reschedule and accommodate you at a future date. We are waiving all rebooking fees at this time.
