The Mast Farm was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, as “one of the most complete and best preserved groups of nineteenth century farm buildings in western North Carolina.” Thanks to inspired restorations and good care, The Mast Farm Inn welcomes visitors today as it did a hundred years ago, providing delicious meals and comfortable lodging in a beautiful setting.
“A Wonderful Experience” • “From the moment I booked the reservation to the final checkout, my husband and I could not have been more charmed and felt more pampered. The food is exquisite – fresh, innovative and yet so unpretentious. We stayed in the Gazebo Cottage – spacious and romantic, with a wonderful bed… and the outside spa added great romance to the weekend. I can’t say enough about the attention to detail – from the daily personalized menus to the friendliness of everyone on staff. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We will be back!”
“Anniversary Getaway” • “This was our second visit to the Mast Farm Inn, and everything about the Gazebo Cottage was perfect, especially our basket of goodies I ordered ahead of time. Our dinner and breakfast was outstanding, and most of all, everyone at the Inn was truly lovely. I can’t wait to come back, and many many thanks for a wonderful time.”
“Relaxing Get Away” • “We stayed at the inn for a long weekend in late July. We loved the Gazebo Cottage – lovely porch, cabin interior relaxed but not “shabby”. We enjoyed the outdoor hot tub under the tree canopy. I thought at first it would be weird that the two cabins “shared” the hot tub but it was completely fine. The breakfast at the inn was out of this world. We have stayed at MANY b+bs and this breakfast blew me away both days. The inn keepers were friendly and helpful with picking out restaurants and hiking trails. The location of the inn is great for outdoor mountain experiences. We have recommended it to family and friends and hope to get back ourselves.”
“Spectacular!” • “We stayed in the Gazebo Cottage at Mast Farm Inn while visiting relatives in the area. The cottage was very well appointed, had access to a lovely hot tub, was clean, tidy, and overall extremely pleasant. The breakfast that was included with the room was absolutely delightful. The farmhouse, which serves as the reception, lounge, and dining area was fabulous, well-maintained and very comfortable. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. A bit of a splurge overall for my budget, honestly, but worth every penny.”
“Wonderful Get Away!” • “My husband and I visited the Mast Farm Inn for our honeymoon and then again for our 10-year anniversary. We stayed in the house for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. For our 10-year anniversary we stayed in the Gazebo Cottage and it was wonderful too. The breakfast that came with our room was so wonderful. The grits and breakfast casseroles were so delicious. We had dinner one night at the Inn and it was exceptional. You cannot get food like this just anywhere. We cannot wait to return again soon.
“Absolute Heaven” • “Mike and I have stayed at the Mast Farm on 4 different occasions and have loved each one. They make us feel like we are part of their family. We have always stayed in the cottages and loved each one. We stayed in the Black Smith Cottage on our first visit and it will probably always be our favorite, but the Loom House is the oldest and makes you feel as if you have stepped back in time, with a luxurious modern day comfort. We stayed in the Gazebo Cottage on our last visit and loved it as well, with it’s seclusion and wonderful porch. All of the cottages are beautiful and comfortable in their own unique way. From the braying “rooster donkey” that wakes you in the morning to the wonderful breakfasts that mom and sister prepare we love every visit and look forward to our next one. We love the Mast Farm and everyone there. We would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get away, relax and leave the rat race somewhere else. You cannot beat the beauty of Valle Crucis and Grandfather Mountain or the comfortable, relaxing and pampered atmosphere of the Mast Farm. We look forward to our next visit, hopefully soon.”
