Watauga County Road Conditions
Watauga County Road Conditions and Weather Updates • The Mast Farm Inn is honored to be one of the official sponsors of Watauga County Road Conditions and Weather Updates. "As a Watauga county native serving 20 years as a local radio host and news reporter, owner of my own small business dump trucking company, I developed these sites out of my desire for local residents and visitors to have timely, accurate information." ~ Kenneth Reece
About WCRC&WC • Welcome to the newest and ONLY resource of its kind for High Country motorists and travelers. This site was created after the tremendous success of the Facebook page, which started on December 13, 2010 and quickly gained over 4000 “likes” in less than 4 weeks. Since that time the Facebook page is over 7000 “likes” and the Twitter followers are over 1000. With so much information being passed along on those social media sites, it only made sense to provide a central location—accessible to even more people—to house all the pictures, videos and reports. And that’s how this website was born!
The tremendous success of all the Watauga County Roads and Weather Conditions (WCRC&WC) sites is thanks to you and others who use them daily to stay informed, post your valuable comments on weather and road conditions, and share your photos. I devote myself to constantly seeking information and updating these pages but it’s those of you who join me in this online community that make the sites what I hope you find are valuable resources for your work and play in the High Country!
Kenneth Reece • "As a Watauga county native serving 20 years as a local radio host and news reporter, owner of my own small business dump trucking company, I developed these sites out of my desire for local residents and visitors to have timely, accurate information.
Anyone who has lived here, or has an interest here, knows the weather can change quickly and dramatically! Winter weather can be especially severe. With the explosion of social media in recent years, I created the WCRC&WC Facebook as a way to reach people quickly, with instant information to help travelers stay safe by communicating road and weather updates during treacherous winter conditions.
But the Facebook page evolved into something much more: it’s now a community of friends and neighbors—including those who love the area as visitors—who share a bond. We all love the High Country! And we share the same concern for safe travels and enjoyment of this beautiful area.
Thank you for making these sites one of the most popular destinations in the High Country! I look forward to your comments and input about how to make these sites even more valuable in the future!" ~ Kenneth Reece
