KB Photography exists to capture priceless moments through pictures that you will cherish forever; Natural light music, lifestyle, and wedding photography.
Photography • It all started just taking pictures of family and friends at special events such as birthdays, reunions, Christmas, and proms. I got my first SLR camera and I was hooked. I couldn’t put the camera down! Ask anybody around me! As a musician, I believe God has given me this new passion for photography to express the creativity He has given me in another avenue.
As time has passed, more people have asked me to do pictures for them. I still get excited anytime someone asks because its all still a new adventure to me! I know that I still have a lot to learn, but I believe God has given me this passion for a reason. My goal with my photography, is to capture life as it happens. To see the little details in life that will always remind you of that specific place in time. To capture your wedding day, prom, senior year, or your child as he or she grows so much each and every day. Contact me at email@example.com or 828.312.1628 if you are interested in a session! I would be honored to share your life with you for a day, creating memories that you will cherish forever!
Music • Raised in the mountains of East Tennessee, Kristen grew up with the sounds of bluegrass, gospel and country music all around her. At an early age, a passion and love for this music resonated deep within her soul. Her upbringing in these mountains gave her a love for the heritage of bluegrass and country music she has today. Early proponents of her music included her great Uncle Clarence “Tater” Tate, who played bass and fiddle for the great Bill Monroe for many years. Her diverse love for music was also nurtured by her Grandmother who would sit on her back porch overlooking the hills of Tennessee listening to the Grand Ole Opry coming over the radio, her Mother who encouraged and taught her songs about faith, love and family, and her Aunt as she played the piano in their little country church teaching Kristen the hymns of the faith.
Now at just 22 years of age, Kristen draws off her rich musical heritage while also embracing innovation every time she performs. From early on in her life, whenever she sang people took notice. Her voice, believability, and passion have pierced the hearts of those who have had the chance to hear her. Her strong faith in the Lord and desire to serve Him drive her to have excellence in all she does, and give her the ability to present music with a depth and passion beyond her years.
Genre, age, nor limitations have held her back. She beautifully blends the traditional ancient tones with modern licks, chords and melodic combinations to create something so fresh and innovative. Playing, Guitar, Mandolin, and Banjo along with her versatile songwriting abilities make her a well-versed instrumentalist and musician. Overcoming hardships in her life, including a traumatic car accident in 2008, Kristen has defeated many odds to rise above stronger than ever. Kristen has been a part of The Hurleys, a bluegrass gospel group based out of North Carolina since 2006. You may visit www.hurleysbluegrass.com for more information.
