Karen Lehmann • I have enjoyed working in the High Country as a wedding, portrait and publication photographer for the past 10 years.
I was blessed when my passion for photography turned professional through my association with one of the High Country’s best photographers Todd Bush, whose studio is located in Banner Elk.
"Writing and photographing for two local high country magazines, Carolina Mountain Life & High Country Press, give me a amazing opportunity to meet the interesting people who make up our unique community"
I strive for my photographs to tell a story. I love the art of photography and I still work in the wedding and portraiture field, but I am excited to be exploring new digital photo boundaries. My interests have expanded to: documenting through albums, freelance writing and photography for local magazines and teaching others who share my same love of digital photography through photo classes. Showing how the digital camera works and how to get those beloved images off their computer and into their lives.
Would you like to take a private two hour class with me at your location? The idea for teaching this photography class was spawned by numerous inquiries over the years from people who want to understand their own camera better, but they are not sure where to begin. "Basic Digital Photography" or "Don’t you wish your digital camera came with an instructor?" has become a hit and I enjoy doing the classes a great deal.
Some of the topics covered
• Tips on how to capture better images
• Transferring images to your computer
• Your camera’s menu and features buttons
• Making albums and other creative ideas
• Common errors made while taking pictures
Who should attend? Anyone who owns a digital camera, either brand new or maybe a few years old and still isn’t quite sure what all the buttons are for. Anyone who wants to improve the quality of the photos they take. If you are still shooting with a film this would be a great introduction into the world of digital photography.
The cost of the two hour class $200 for 2 to 5 people. I don’t recommend having more than 5 cameras per class. For larger group classes please contact me. The fun part is that classes can be held in a hosts home. This means you can get your own group of friends together for a class, and I will come to you. Contact me for availability.
