Isis Restaurant & Music Hall
Isis Restaurant & Music Hall •"The original Isis Theatre of Asheville was built in 1937 and screened its last film in 1957. We as a family have restored Isis and made this historic theatre into what is now Isis Restaurant and Music Hall. We hope to bring back what Isis was originally, a place that brought people together and entertained the community. And with that, a place that has great energy, even better food, local and regional music to get down to and just a good spot for a neighborhood hang."
Isis is a family owned and managed business. How we got to the point of opening a restaurant and music hall as a family is a little difficult to explain, and may be even more difficult to understand. It has been, and continues to be, an interesting and memorable experience. Throughout this process, folks have asked a number of times for us to describe what exactly Isis is. We each answer this a little differently, but in the end we expect the food and music to a be a reflection of that which we, our friends, and family enjoy. All the while, our ultimate goal being to create a good place to eat that inspires conversation, camaraderie, energy, and has great food and seriously good music. It is, and will continue to be, “a work in progress.”
“We hope you will come join us for dinner and a concert, or a cocktail. We look forward to seeing you.”
Executive chef Mike Mahoney and Chef Jon McGregor are joined by a great crew in the kitchen. These guys will be responsible for creating dishes using seasonal products and utilizing local produce whenever possible. We expect our menu to change every 6 weeks or so, and will feature soups and specials on a regular basis.
Isis is a concert venue with an accompanying bar and upscale restaurant. Many of the artists and performers we feature are recognized national or regional acts. We will also be presenting new artists that have not yet received full national attention as well as the talented artists and bands in and around Asheville.
Parking for Isis is available on the east side of the Isis building – the entrance to the parking lot is off Dunwell Avenue (Brevard Road becomes Dunwell Avenue after it crosses Haywood Road). Additional parking is available on the street and at the Grace Baptist Church and Sun Trust Bank lots next to Luke Atkinson Furniture.
