World Of Bluegrass 2013 - Raleigh, North Carolina

World of Bluegrass 2013 • "Yo-Yo Ma Plays Bluegrass… as do pop star Adele, country star Dierks Bentley, and rock star Tommy Shaw. The Berklee College of Music and East Tennessee State University, have Bluegrass and Roots Music degrees, and you can’t swing a fiddle without hitting a bluegrass violinist classically trained from the age of three. Musical virtuosity, world-class vocalists and songwriting, along with the capability to perform studio album quality live, every time onstage, are a few defining characteristics of bluegrass. While the artistry is "tried and true", the old "trite and untrue" stereotypical assumptions and generalizations about the genre have in fact little to do with reality. It’s mighty serious business by mighty serious artists."

"A musical genre created by Bill Monroe and North Carolinian Earl Scruggs; Today’s Bluegrass is the freight train of American Music. Its deep roots in Celtic, Old-Time, Old-Country, Blues, and Jazz are blossoming into "some powerful glory". Bluegrass has clearly become high-culture, and high-art. And tradition, heritage, and legacy, meet down home nobility, and virtuoso sophistication, at IBMA’s World of Bluegrass 2013, in Raleigh, North Carolina, from Tuesday September 24th through Saturday September 28th, 2013. You don’t want to miss this unique historic opportunity to discover and explore Bluegrass Today"
